RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti: the cards that are actually in stock

Looking for an RTX 5060 in stock or a 5060 Ti restock? The cheap end of the lineup is the one you can buy today. What each card is for, and what to pay.

ASUS - PRIME NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 OC Edition 8GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 Graphics Card - Black

Most of the graphics-card news this year is about cards you can't buy. This guide is about the ones you can. The RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti sit at the bottom of NVIDIA's current lineup, they were made in volume, and on an ordinary day you'll find them on the shelf at or near the price on the box. If you want a new card this week rather than a wait, start here.

The two cards

RTX 5060 RTX 5060 Ti
Memory 8 GB GDDR7, 128-bit 8 GB or 16 GB GDDR7, 128-bit
Board power 145 W 180 W
Launch list price $299 (19 May 2025) $379 for 8 GB, $429 for 16 GB (16 Apr 2025)
Power connector One 8-pin on most cards One 8-pin on most cards
Founders Edition None None

Both are Blackwell cards with DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation, which matters more at this tier than at the top: upscaling is what turns a 1080p card into a comfortable 1440p one. Both are partner-only, so every card you'll see is from ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY and the rest, with the plain models closest to list.

8 GB or 16 GB?

This is the real decision in the 5060 Ti, and it's the one most listings make hard to see. The two versions have the same chip and the same speed; the 16 GB card only pulls ahead when a game's textures no longer fit in 8 GB, which at 1080p is rare and at 1440p with everything on high is becoming common. So:

  • 1080p, esports and older games: 8 GB is fine, and the cheaper card is the better buy.
  • 1440p, new releases, keeping the card four years: the 16 GB card is worth the difference.
  • The RTX 5060 comes only with 8 GB. It's a 1080p card, and a good one.

If the 16 GB version is the one you want, check the name on the listing: stores don't always make the memory size obvious. Our RX 9070 XT vs RTX 5070 Ti guide covers the next step up if you'd rather have 16 GB on a wider bus.

What we track

Each page shows the price Best Buy reported, when we last looked, and every restock and price drop we've recorded. At this end of the catalog the restock log is the less interesting column; the price history is the one to watch, because these cards get discounted.

Why these are in stock when the others aren't

Three plain reasons. They were built in volume from the start, because this tier sells the most cards. Resellers don't bother, because the margin on a $300 card that's always available is nothing. And the people building AI machines don't want 8 GB. The result is the one corner of the market where "in stock" is the normal state, and where the price on the shelf is close to the price in the review.

That is a description of today, not a promise. The product pages log every restock and sellout we see; for these cards we have not seen enough restocks to say anything about timing, and honestly we'd be surprised if there's much of a pattern to find. The page says "not enough data" rather than inventing one.

What to pay, and when to wait

Pay list price or close to it, today, if you need the card. Set an alert with "also on price drops" ticked if you don't: at this tier a sale is the realistic way to get a better deal, and one email when the price falls is easier than checking. Our guide to buying a graphics card at list price covers the general routine, and when Best Buy restocks graphics cards covers the timing, for the cards that need it.

One more honest note: the RTX 3050 is a previous-generation card. It's still the right pick for a small or old PC with no spare power connector, and the wrong pick for anyone who can fit a 5060.

The short version

Want a card this week at 1080p: the RTX 5060, cheapest partner model in stock. Want 1440p and a card that lasts: the RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB, or AMD's RX 9060 XT 16 GB if it's cheaper that day. Want to spend as little as possible on a tired PC: the RTX 3050. None of them should need an alert to find, which is exactly why they're worth a look.
