How to use this site: search, stores near you and alerts

Find a product, check the stores near your ZIP, read every status on a card, and get a heads-up by email, Discord, Telegram or Bluesky when it is back.

Everything here happens on a product page. You find the thing you're hunting, see who has it online and on the shelf near you, and tell us how you'd like to hear when it's back. This is the short tour, with the words you'll see on the page and what each one means.

Find your product

Start in the search box on the home page or at the top of the catalog. Type a name ("Switch 2", "RTX 5070 Ti", "Nice Cube") and a short list of matches drops down as you go. Tap one and you're on its page.

If you'd rather browse, the catalog has a tab for each shelf: consoles, graphics cards, LEGO® sets, trading cards and collectibles. Tick In stock now to see only what you can buy this minute, or sort by Most popular, Newly tracked or last restocked. A whole product line, like every Switch 2 bundle or every RTX 5090, has a page of its own, and so does every brand. The restocks feed is the same catalog read the other way round: what came back, and when.

Have the store's link already? Paste it into the same box and search. When it turns nothing up, search the name instead. Either way we see the miss, and the products people ask for most are the ones we add next.

Read the card

Every card and every store row carries a badge with a colour and a word. The colour never stands alone, so you can always read it.

  • In stock (green). The store sells it online right now, at the price beside it. The button takes you to the store's own page.
  • Pre-order (green). You can order today and it ships later. The button says "Pre-order", never "Buy", so nobody expects it this week.
  • Limited (yellow). On a store shelf only: the store reports a few left at that location. Order for pickup before you drive.
  • Sold out (grey). The store says it can't be ordered right now. The row says when it went, how long it was in stock, and how many times it has been back this week.
  • Price drop (raspberry). The price fell at a store that has it. You'll see it on the home page and in the feed, and by email if you asked for drops.
  • Resellers only (grey). The store itself doesn't have it. Only marketplace sellers list it there, and none of them has it right now, so it counts as sold out. When a reseller does have it near the usual price, the row turns green and says "Reseller, in stock". Far over the usual price, it says "Reseller price" and nothing is sent.
  • Not checked yet, In stock 5 h ago and Couldn't reach the store. None of these is sold out. The first read is on its way, our last look is too old to show as now, or the store didn't answer and we're trying again. The row says which, and when we last looked.

Under the rows sits the legend: Status: In stock, Pre-order, Sold out, Price drop on the online rows, and In stock, Limited, Sold out, Couldn't check on the store shelves. It's on every page that shows stock. The long version is what the statuses mean.

Check the stores near you

Below the online rows on a product page is Near you. Tell us your ZIP and tap Find it near me. The page comes back with the Best Buy stores around you, nearest first, each with its distance, its status and when we last saw it. Tap Check the stores near [ZIP] and the shelves get a fresh look, which lands in a few seconds.

A green row offers Pick up at that store, which places a pickup order that holds one for you, and Directions. Shelves change fast, so order first and drive second.

A few things to know:

  • Store shelves are Best Buy only for now. Target, Walmart and Amazon show as online rows, and the page says so. How Target shows here.
  • A product Best Buy doesn't sell has no shelves to show, and the page tells you that too.
  • Your ZIP stays in your browser while you look around. We keep it only if you set a store alert with it, and it goes when the alert does.
  • "Couldn't check" means we couldn't reach that store just now. It's not sold out.

The store pickup guide has the longer story on shelves.

Get a heads-up

We'll let you know when it's back. Pick how: email, Discord, Telegram, or Bluesky. All four are on every product page, in the Get a heads-up card.

  • Email. Type your address and tap Notify me. One confirmation email arrives, with a single button, "Confirm my alert". Nothing is sent until you tap it, and if you don't, we never write again and the address is used for nothing. Tick Also on price drops if you want those too. Give a ZIP and a distance, and you also hear when a store near you has it on the shelf, with the pickup link. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe that works at once and deletes the alert.
  • Discord. Tap Join the Discord on any product page, or the Discord button at the foot of this one. Every restock posts in its shelf's channel the moment it happens, and price drops post in #price-drops. Pick your shelves and the server pings you.
  • Telegram. Join our channel and the same restocks arrive there. The link sits beside every email form.
  • Bluesky. Follow us and tap the bell. Every post names the product and the store, with the link to our page.

Follow the product, not the store: one alert covers every store we check for it. Store shelf alerts are email only. The heads-up links to our product page first, so if a restock sold out while you reached for your phone, you see that before you click through. Here's what each one looks like.

Quick answers

Is this free?

Yes. Searching, store checks and alerts cost nothing. There's no app to install and no account to make.

Do I need an account to set an alert?

No. Leave an email on a product page and confirm it once. Discord, Telegram and Bluesky need only their own apps.

How do I get a heads-up on my phone?

Join the Discord, join the Telegram channel, or follow us on Bluesky and tap the bell. Each one posts every restock the moment it happens. Email reaches your phone too, of course.

Does a ZIP check save my ZIP?

Not on our side. It stays in your browser while you look around. We keep a ZIP only when you set a store alert with it, and it is deleted with the alert.

What does "Resellers only" mean?

The store itself doesn't have it. Only marketplace sellers list it there, and none has it right now, so it counts as sold out and nothing is sent. When the store sells it again, the row turns green and the heads-up goes out.

Why does a card say "Not checked yet"?

Its first read hasn't landed, or our last look is too old to show as fact. It doesn't mean sold out. The row says when we last looked, and a fresh read is on its way.

How do I stop the emails?

Tap Unsubscribe at the foot of any email. It works at once and deletes the alert. Most mail apps show the same link at the top of the message.
